Thing #23: Summarize your thoughts about this program

It looks like we have a lot more to learn form this classroom learning 2.0. The cyber world is not as simple as it seems. We can always make use of it for enhancing our learning experience. It can also be used for teaching purposes. I believe these new technologies are useful tools to assist us not only in work but in business and education. The important thing is to understand how it works. This is made possible with the guidance of TLC. This is a useful program and I will not hesitate to recommend this program to others. We have to keep up with technologies and in order to do so, we should not let technologies overwhelm us. If you have problem understanding the all these technologies, help is available. Knowledge is Power and Knowledge is King

"By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection which is noblest; second, by imitation, which is the easiest; and third, by experience, which is the bitterest." – Confucius

Thing no 22 (optional): podcast and e books

I have used podcast and ebooks before. You can upload mp3 files to MeL or use Wimba. You may also use direct links to websites. For ebooks, beside pdf files which I consider something like ebooks, there is a special format that can be read with a MS ebook reader. It is just like turning the pages of the book yourself. Quite fascinating. My experience is a long time ago so cannot remember much more.

'Experience is a hard teacher, she gives the tests first then the lessons'

Thing No: 21 - optional : Jing capture

Sounds interesting. Anyone have experience with this? I usually use ctrl print screen command to capture my computer screen. As for videos,I will use my video camera. Jing Capture is more convenient and user friendly.

Thing #20 Embedding videos

Looks difficult but can be done with your modules. See sample video of the clip shown above during a discussion on the topic 'The molecular architecture of the nuclear pore complex' recently. The same video is embedded in this blog as shown below:

Thing # 19

The LibraryThing is interesting site for you to list your books or to do book searches. Registration is quite easy. Just your username and password. You may update your profile later. I have uploaded 3 books. Note details like publisher, date, ISBN no title of books required. Anyway will upload more books later.
keep you update with books to read and record those you have read. There is a space for you to write comment on the book that you have read. "Nice things and happen on the net"
Do try this: "Seeing is believing" don't just digest everything that I have said.

Thing #18 On-line applications and tools

GOOGLE DOCS

An interesting on line document sharing website is the Google Docs. It is convenient and you can choose to share with others or individual or not at all. You will not fear that your documents are lost and they can be access anywhere in the world. I find this quite useful and interesting. I have posted some documents and it is quite easy. You just need to use your Google account user name and password and the rest is abc.

Do try this and I am sure you will not be disappointed.

I have learnt something about Learning 2.0 Sandbox when I refer to Wikipedia and found the following based on my understanding of the subject:

Sandbox as mentioned in Wikipedia is a a virtual container in which untrusted programs can be safely run. Activities include:
* Software development
* video game editing
* Sandbox game for open-ended play
* Sandbox Effect Internet search

Thing #16 Wikis

Wiki is interesting and can be use for your module. There is a wiki in MeL called Wiki Tool in the 'Tools' folder. I am already using it and find it useful for students to share information and interact with each other. There are many websites using wikis and one particular one called wikis in education is really informative. It has a wide variety of options for things you can do in the website.
